Development and Release

The announcement of this game was made in March 2019. And the game was released on 6th September 2019. The good thing is that the game covers were made public on 1st of July 2019.

According to news, Xbox One X and Xbox One S are going to get special editions of the game. Aside from this, for smartphone game lovers, there will also be a limited version of this game. It will support both iOS and Android.

The free demo of the game featured the player mode called My Career, which was out on 21st August. With the demo, players could create up to 6 MyPlayers.

Gameplay

As said earlier, this game is a simulation of the basketball game. Just like the previous games, this game provides a depiction of the National Basketball Association (NBA). It offers a lot of improvements as well.

You can play NBA games with customized players or real-life players. Plus, you will have to follow the same rules set by NBA games. You can choose from many game modes and customize many settings.

Aside from the teams and players of the current season, the previous games included NBA teams like Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls.

During the game development, the focus of the developers was on the MyLeague and MyGM modes that give you a task to manage the basketball operations for your team. Actually, MyGM gives more importance to realism. On the other hand, MyLeague allows you to benefit from customization options.

Unlike the earlier games, MyGM mode introduces a lot of outsene-type interactions. The idea was to add a storyline to the game.

Again, NBA 2K20 has the MyTeam mode that aims to have the ultimate team and maintain a virtual collection of trading card. Players get together and play in a tournament-style competition in many different formats.

For a team, assets are acquired via a number of means, such as the auction house and random card packs. In this mode, Virtual Currency is also used quite a bit.
