One of the biggest debates in pro basketball, and the sports world for that matter, is the Kobe vs. LeBron debate. This is a rivalry in the sense of one talented player paired up against another, and fans could sit back arguing for hours about which of these two players is better and why.
While Kobe Bryant is now 31 years old and will turn 32 next year, he’s still just about as effective as he’s ever been on the basketball court. He doesn’t seem to have slowed down much just yet, though it should probably happen within the next few years.
As far as LeBron is concerned, he’s just 24 years old and seemingly on the rise. The 6’8 small forward seems to get better with each year, while Kobe has hit a plateau, though it’s hard to go much higher when you’re at Kobe’s level.
Both of these players are clearly the leaders of their teams, and both can score 30 or more points in a game with ease. Both of them have had their share of clutch moments for their teams, though Kobe has had more of them. On the other hand, LeBron James has more impressive stats when it comes to rebounds, assists, and defense. He’s also a bit taller at 6’8 and seems to be more explosive.
On the other hand, Kobe won a championship last season, and LeBron didn’t. Then again, those on the LeBron side would say that the Lakers would have won a championship had it been LeBron on the Lakers, and the Cavs wouldn’t have won with Kobe.
This is a tough debate that could go on and on. The truth is that it probably just comes down to a matter of opinion at this point. That’s what makes it all a lot of fun.
