When you hear the term “Completely healthy”, what comes to your mind? Do you instantly think of all those people who exercise daily and are slim and trim? Completely healthy does not only mean being physically fit but mentally as well.
Have you ever heard about the Hunza tribe? The legendary Hunza tribe stays in the Himalayan range between India, Pakistan and China. These people are famed to live up to a ripe age of even 130 years. It is also found that the Hunzas never fall ill. The Hunzas get up at around five in the morning and go for long walks and hikes; they eat two meals a day, one at midday and the other at night. Their vitality and longevity has been attributed to the special bread that they eat with every meal. The good lifestyle lead by the Hunzas is the key to their being healthy and attaining longevity.
Beware couch potatoes; to lead a healthy life a good lifestyle is required. A good lifestyle comprises of the following-
1. Sticking to a nutritious, well balanced diet comprising of fresh fruits, green vegetables, whole grains and little quantities of meat. A lot of water should be had as it flushes out toxins and helps fat reduction. It also helps clear your skin and skin problems.
2. Exercise is a must, it could be working out in the gym or if you don’t like to visit the gym, you could go out for a brisk walk daily. Convince a friend to walk with you or if you have a dog, take him out. Carry your I-pod along; listening to music is a great way to enjoy your walk. Yoga with a couple of abdominal crunches at home is another form of exercise. If you like dancing, then join a dance class and be ready to sweat it out.
3. In order to become completely healthy the third and most important factor is to be mentally fit and at peace. Meditation and yoga are the perfect for keeping body and mind fit, 15-20 minutes of meditation each morning is the perfect way to start your day. Have you ever self analyzed yourself and your actions? Take out 15 minutes each day to sit down and think what all you experienced during the day, which have you hurt knowingly or unknowingly and write about your feelings into your personal diary.
Thinking positive is a must, try to think positive about everything and world will look like a better place to you. It is said that if you think positive then everything turns out as you want it to be. Pray everyday; thank the almighty for everything you have.
Enjoy the greenery around you, the chirpy birds, the sunshine, the river by your house, the smile on the faces of children playing in the park. Everyday you will find something to be happy and grateful about.
Doing all these things will make us not only completely healthy but happy too.
