Sometimes finding healthy foods that actually taste good can be a challenge.
Well, worry no more because I have done the work for you. Add these foods to your daily diet and you will enjoy great healthy benefits and also weight loss if they are replacing other, less optimal food choices.
1) Hummus and vegetables. Don’t be fooled. Even if you don’t like raw vegetables they are absolutely wonderful with hummus. You can find hummus in the produce section of your local grocery store or you can find a recipe and make it yourself. It’s mostly ground chick peas.
Some of the best veggies to dip in hummus are peppers, broccoli, carrots, celery, cucumbers, and cauliflower. Feel free to try others as well. This is definitely a tasty and healthy snack you can enjoy anytime. This combination is full of fiber and nutrients.
2) Natural nut butters. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t like peanut butter; unless, of course, they are allergic. Instead of buying processed peanut butter, try the natural versions that only have “peanuts” in the ingredient list.
This may take a little time to get used to because they don’t have added salt or sugar, but I assure you they are great. Also try almond and cashew butters, too. They are awesome.
3) Trail mix. This is probably my favorite because it’s so easy to make and you can take it anywhere. I generally use a base of mixed nuts: raw almonds, pecans, and walnuts. Notice I said raw. The only ingredient should be the nuts, and nothing else.
Mix in some dried fruit that doesn’t have any added sugar. Once again, the only ingredient should be the fruit. Some examples are raisins, figs, dates, cherries, etc. Finally, throw in some unsweetened shredded coconut. This makes a healthy, tasty trail mix you can take anywhere.
