The Chevrolet Corvette has always been an important figure in the automotive world, especially in the American marketplace. It has been given the nickname €America’s Sports Car’ for a reason, that being that it is a superb automobile that can compete with the best of those from around the world, whether they’re supercars or even exotics. One of the most sought after models in the Chevrolet Corvette model range is the Z06. This Z06 variant offers a bigger, more powerful engine, new aerodynamic carbon fiber bodywork, improved tech, and custom Corvette wheels that make it even faster. Chevrolet has finally unveiled the Z06 model for the C7 model generation and it sports a supercharged engine, eight speed automatic, and removable carbon fiber roof for the first time ever.

At the heart of the new Z06 model is a potent 6.2 liter V-8 engine with a supercharger called the LT4. The LT4 engine has a new 1.7 liter Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger on top that is only one inch higher than the LT1 engine in the Stingray variant. The short rotors of the supercharger spin at speeds up to 20,000 RPM and the system works alongside the cylinder deactivation system to improve fuel efficiency even more. The 6.2 liter supercharged LT4 V-8 engine also has other advanced technologies that help to generate more power without dramatically sacrificing fuel economy. The new supercharged engine is expected to send a total of 625 horsepower and 635 lb-ft. of torque to each of the rear custom Corvette wheels and shatter the performance figures for the previous generation model.

Another focus for the General Motors team with the new Z06 was the exterior and the car’s overall aerodynamics. The team designed a new front bumper complete with spoilers and splitters that help to generate downforce and apply pressure to the two front custom Corvette wheels. A new grille works to redirect a generous amount of air into the engine bay and out the hood vents. The rear of the new Z06 is dominated by a carbon fiber spoiler and tail lights that are farther apart than the Stingray model.

Both the front and rear fenders of the new Z06 were extended to accommodate bigger custom Corvette wheels. The 19 inch front and 20 inch rear wheels wear sticker Michelin tires to generate more traction on the road surface. The new set of rollers are pushed to the ground thanks to magnetic ride dampers that automatically adjust and analyze inputs to ensure proper road holding and handling.
