Woods’ Boyhood Days
Eldrick Tont Woods, popularly known as Tiger Woods was born on 30th December, 1975 in Cypress, California. He was nicknamed €Tiger€ by his father. He golf instructor was none other than his very own father who used to teach him golfing skills and techniques. When he was eight, he acquired proficiency in the game and displayed his skills in a television show that gained huge popularity.
The Sparkling Career of Woods
A student of Stanford University, Tiger Woods kicked off his golfing career by winning a few US Golf titles. In the year 1996, he came to be known as a professional golfer. Woods clinched the U.S. Masters at Augusta in the following year when he was just 21. He was then the youngest man as well as the first African-American to grab this honor.
Later in the year 1997, Tiger Woods participated in the British Open where he matched the course record of 64. However, Woods returned to Golf and instead won the British Open and the PGA Championship. The following years were again marked by a few victories including BMW Championship and The Tour Championship.
