When traveling to large cities such as Berlin, deciding between the best hotels can be a major issue for many people. Whether you’re looking to stay in maximum comfort at a 4 or 5 star hotel, or if you’re on a budget and looking for cheaper accommodations, or if you just want to be adventurous and want to camp even, there’s something available for you in the great city of Berlin .It’s always good to follow a proven itinerary when traveling to a new city, or even revisiting one such as I have done with Berlin. There are great architectural wonders throughout Berlin, as well as a fine cultural that you’ll want to experience, but getting everything in can prove quite daunting without the proper plan.
Safety precautions should also be taken when traveling in Berlin. The main tip is to blend in with the locals and not to draw attention to yourself as a tourist. Look at a map in your hotel or in a small business, rather than looking at in a public location. Keep cameras in a concealed bag that is located near you. Avoid carrying bumbags, which are easy to remove and noticeable as a tourist accessory.
The Potsdamer Platz was one of the busiest squares in the whole of Europe and when the Berlin Wall was built a platform was erected that allowed Westerners to look over the wall and into the eastern part of the city. After many years of neglect, recent restoration and renovation have created a wonderful new, thriving area, full of restaurants, museums, bars, shops and many other venues for entertainment. Once again it is a lively square and is rapidly becoming the hub of the city.
